Postdoctoral Researcher

Satya Srii
Dr. Satya Srii is a passionate and curious seeker of life's truth. She is a postdoctoral researcher working on seed moisture relations during storage at Aarhus University, Denmark. She did her Ph.D in Seed Science and Technology at the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, India in a project to study physical structure and chemical composition of seed coat to make microcapsules which was funded by TruCapSols, Bethlehem, USA. She was at the Developmental Biology Lab, Sorbonne University, Paris for collaborative research training during her Ph.D and studied seed oxygen mapping and antioxidant activity. She also worked on seed genetic purity markers like SSR, and SNPs during her masters. She has expertise on seed quality analysis, oxgen mapping, microscopy (light, flourescence, SEM) biochemical (Antioxidant assays, Trace element analysis, HPLC, GCMS) and molecular (DNA extraction, PCR, SSR markers) techniques.
Though Seed Science is her passion, she was intrigued by Quantum physics and that led her to be a part of Quantum Biology Lab at Howard University, USA as a remote research assistant to develop projects on quantum markers for seed viability which are awaiting funding.
Besides this, she is a blogger and author of a book 'For the love of seeds'. Her quest and zeal of seeds and life is endless. She wishes her profession adds value to people's life. In this context, she sees herself a better fit for teaching accompained with research and she is on her way to attaining that!
